The second weekend in January some of my Denver friends threw us a great baby shower -- and were nice enough to let my mom, Grammy, Megan and Aunt Erin come and crash! Thanks to Jennie B and Britney from work, Katie L (yes, another Katie) from med school, and Ryan from residency for hosting!! We had lots of fun, going out to dinner, high tea at the House of Commons, and a movie night. While we were waiting for our movie and eating snacks the power went out -- turned into a really "romantic" evening with lots of candles --
This is with the flash:
But it really looked more like this:
Turned out to be really fun! Right as we were leaving for the show, the lights came back on. A great memory!
The shower was Sunday -- complete with cupcakes:
Ridiculous amounts of food:
Kansas City Girls:
GARDEN CITY GIRLS! (Yeah!!)
Adorable little onesies that everyone painted -- I don't like shower games, so Britney laid out onesies and paint and everyone could make one whenever they wanted. They all turned out so cute!
Here is a quote from Daddy - It's revised, as it used to be "There are no friends/wives/etc on a powder day." (Luckily with my new skis under usual circumstances I can keep up anyway.)
Another Thiessen invention -- the term "Arvada-tastic" made it onto a onesie:
AND, my dear friend from residency, Ryan, flew all the way from Seattle, leaving her kids and hubby to come co-hostess. What a gal! (Note the matching shirts. Not planned. I only have like 4 shirts, and she was dressing out of a carry-on bag, so we were twins for the day. I was the big twin and she was the skinny twin...)
Full term today. Woo-hoo! Few more projects to do -- but the house is essentially ready. Hang in there, Baby T! Can't wait to meet you!! :)
