We have had a lot of visitors to see Baby Ben!! We love seeing everyone and are so excited he's getting to know his friends and family!!
Aunt Megan came, and cooked up some tasty enchiladas and stromboli for us, and even babysat while Mommy & Daddy went on their first date! (Sushi!! Sauvingon Blanc!! Woo!) Not very many babies get to have a NICU nurse as their first babysitter!!
Scott (from GCHS) and Tori and Baby Carter came to bring us some tasty dinner (you see a theme, here -- food!!) and to introduce the boys. Scott and Tori couldn't believe how little Ben was, and we couldn't believe how big Carter was!
Amanda and Scott came (a GC Girl, yeah!!) -- they were visiting Denver for a hog conference (of course)(I think that's right?!?) -- so we sent them out for a big night on the town instead of making them eat on TV trays at our house! They brought some wonderful presents, and Amanda got her baby fix. She especially loves Ben's tiny feet. (What's not to love??)
Uncle Dr. Borkon came through on his way to Colorado Springs, all the way from New York City! We gave him the skinny on all things baby, since he and Dr. Megan are expecting their first baby in June. He was very interested in hearing about bassinets, bouncy seats, and where to buy baby Jayhawk gear. We thought our house was tiny for a baby -- their NYC apartment is even tinier! But it's nice to always have baby close by! Ms. Courtney from Hutch also came from NYC to see Ben (and to work...), but Mommy forgot to take a picture.
Don't forget Aunt Lola and Uncle Jono!! They came and had a great day just holding baby Ben and hanging at home -- they actually babysat for our first unofficial date, when Patrick and I went to Subway to get lunch for us all! :) We can get a lot done when there are extra arms around to hold the baby!!
And of course, Grandma and Grandpa Thiessen came for another visit. Daddy got a ton of yard work done, Mommy painted her toenails (equally important work!), Mommy & Daddy got to go on another date, and we all enjoyed watching KU make it to the Final Four! Grandpa and Daddy mastered the art of whisper-yelling at the TV while the baby was sleeping and the Jayhawks were playing. Ben and I had a talk about how when Daddy yells at the TV he's not mad a Ben, he's just cheering for the Jayhawks. :)
