The Trials of a 6 Week Old

Here is Ben taking a bottle from Grandma Thiessen.  It took a few weeks for him to get the hang of it -- taking the bottle about 50% of the time, even if I left the house, Patrick used all different kinds of bottles, positions and temperatures of milk.  Finally one day after 2 failed attempts from Daddy, I got curious and tried to give him one, and he took it!  And after that, he's been a champion bottle eater.

I swear when he finally took the bottle he was looking at me like, "You knew about this?!?!  Hey, Mom, sorry, I just didn't want to go behind your back or anything ... "

And at his "2 Month" check-up, which was actually at 6 weeks, he got 3 shots. :(  Poor baby.  The pediatrician said some kids don't mind it, and some are sore, so if he seems a little sore to give him some tylenol ... He took it like a man in the clinic, but later that evening, whoa ... He was definitely sore, only eating or crying until he got some tylenol and then slept it off. (we might have actually combined a growth spurt with shots ... awesome.)  And this kid hardly ever cries, so it must have REALLY hurt.  Thank goodness Robin (my mom's friend) sent us a care package with infant tylenol in it, so we were armed and ready.

It's a good thing he has these nice baby thighs!
