Farewell to Cash

We made some more delicious fish for Cash's farewell dinner...we were so sad to see him go!!

We drove out to the beach to try to catch a sunset the last night he was here. Too cloudy for the sunset, but we did see why New Zealand has been called the "Land of the Long White Cloud."

Mount Taranaki from the beach at dusk ... still not a bad sunset!

Sunday we went for a ride on the old restored paddle boat on the Wanganui River. The Waimarie sank into the river after being out of use for years (after the highway was built along the Wanganui River), and was pulled out of the river and restored. It is a nice, leisurely cruise.

We took Cash by the Vege Mart (pronounced "Veggie-MAHT") -- got all of these veggies (and free range eggs) for $19 (New Zealand dollars...that's about $14.60 US). We've come to shop more like Kiwis, getting our veggies at this farmers' market, our meat from the butcher (they sponsor Barry the Butcher, by the way!), and all of the other stuff (cheap wine!) at the grocery store.
