Home Sweet Wanganui

Here is a shot of the entrance to our house...actually from the side. The front view is hidden by huge trees...Not a bad thing. Apparently it will soon also be surrounded by hydrangeas!

Fisherman...Patrick Thiessen, master of the seas...While I did hospital orientation on Monday, Patrick went out fishing in the ocean with my boss and a few friends. (What else would you do Monday morning??) Brought home some blue cod and red snapper and it was delicious! As we were eating, Patrick said, "This morning when we got up, this fish was swimming in the ocean."

Our landlord is one of the anesthesiologists at the hospital. He and his family lived in our house for 20+ years and are now renting it to us (more about the commute later...the hospital is across the street from our back fence...commute time approximately 3 minutes!). They had us our for tea/coffee at their new house. It's built on a huge bluff that overlooks the ocean. They took our picture in their back yard here. He said he misses the quick commute...I think they'll manage!
Coming soon to a blog near you...Patrick's hiking adventure.
